BASICS Dr Katie Muscroft with the new Suzuki Vitara S

Dorset's first BASICS doctor is getting ready to hit the road in their new set of wheels. After much deliberation, test driving and a bit of haggling Dr Katie Muscroft chose this nearly-new Suzuki Vitara S from Snows Suzuki in Hamworthy.

The compact SUV style means plenty of room for medical kit and the elevated driver position that's great for emergency driving. It's 1.4 Boosterjet engine gives a surprising turn of speed without drinking fuel. The Alldrive 4x4 traction control was recently, and satisfactorily, put through it's paces during #Snowmaggedon.

BASICS doctors in Dorset use their own, private vehicles for call-out duties. The BASICS Dorset charity will be paying to have it fitted with blue lights and sirens. The nice people at Snows Suzuki offered us a good discount on the purchase price in recognition of our doctor's voluntary work.
